Tone wins Nordjyske Kulturpris 2011 - and is pre-nominated for best album at Nordic Music Prize

Tone aka. Sofie Nielsen has really hit it big in 2011. Previous this month her second album Hanging By The Moon was pre-nominated by the Danish jury to compete in the Best Album category at the Nordic Music Prize award show – and today, November 30 2012, she was awarded the prestigious Nordjysk Kulturpris (Northern Denmarks Cultural Award) for her untiring work over the last years as a cultural producer, not only musically, but also to help establish highly acclaimed projects such as Platform4 and Chill I Parken in Aalborg, Denmark.

The award of 100.000 Danish Kroners is given annually to a significant citizen from northern Denmark by Spar Nord and Nordjyske Media.

Read press coverage from music mag Gaffa, the news section of Spar Nord and articles in Nordjyske newspaper (1, 2, 3 and 4) – as well as tv-coverage from Nordjyske NetTV (1 and 2).

Update: Unfortunately Hanging By The Moon did not make it to the final group of Nordic Music Prize nominees – see who did here. But we appreciate even the initial nomination! (download the album freely by clicking above link)
