Periskop album taking shape

The forthcoming album from Periskop, still officially untitled – and scheduled for a February 2013 release – is steadily taking shape.

Over the course of the last months Periskop has had sessions with select collaborative artists to record tracks for the album: In August he recorded a 20 bpm doom-click track with SOL and later, in October, he joined forces with female abstract breakbeat singersongwriter Tone to capture an equally sinister track for the forthcoming release.

Most recently Periskop has been spending time in the ET Mastering studio in Aarhus, Denmark, with studio technician Emil Thomsen to carefully master all tracks for the album using a well-considered combination of software tools working alongside heaps of analogue mastering machines – including a prototype Gyraf Audio G21 Magneto-dynamic Infundibulum that Thomsen is currently helping develop.

We can hardly wait to get this baby into the pressing machine.
